The Bangaru Balyam initiative, spearheaded by Smt. A. Thameem Ansariya, IAS, the Honorable District Collector and Magistrate of Prakasam District, is a bold and transformative mission dedicated to empowering children and safeguarding their rights The initiative creates a safe, supportive environment for children, uniting communities, schools, local governance systems, and authorities in a collective effort to protect children’s rights. Through strong collaboration with development and protection agencies, it ensures that the well-being of children is prioritized across all sectors. The District Collector’s leadership has made this mission a powerful catalyst for positive change, driving a profound impact on the future of every child in the district.
Inaugurated “Bangaru Balyam” in the ingenious hands of Sri Kailash Satyarthi, Noble Prize Laurette and Hon’ble Minister Sri Dola Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy gaaru, which was an attempt to make all children (0-18) years of the district Happy, Healthy, Safe Secured and empowered with the integral approach of converging all the schemes of state and central government towards child-centric and identifying child-specific indicators to measure well-being, the initiative also beset children with child marriage, child trafficking, child labor, lack of quality education and health malnourishment are tackled.
The Programme started with a PowerPoint Presentation specifying the approach of “Bangaru Balyam,” and the Proposed Innovations in the district followed by a poster launch, pledge, and remarkable speeches by the chief guests at the end rescued child laborers of the district were felicitated by Sri Kailash Satyarthi & Hon’ble Minister.
