DRDA Pensions
Government introduced pension scheme in 1995 and its implementation was entrusted to Revenue Divisional Officers in the district. Later, in 2005, the implementation of pension scheme was entrusted to DRDA. Government committed to secure dignified life to all the poor and vulnerable, particularly the old and infirmity and to support their minimum needs to bring happiness in their lives and in the said process, enhanced scale of pension w.e.f., September, ‘14 payable on October, 2014 as follows.
- Old Age Pension, Weaver, Widow, Abhya Hastam: Rs.200/- to Rs.1,000/-
- Disabled category for disabledness upto 79% : Rs.500/- to Rs.1,000/-
- Disabledness above 80% : Rs.1,500/-
Eligibility Criteria :
Old Age Pension :
Old age persons, both male and female, who are 65 years of age or above and are destitute (with little or no means of subsistence and no family or relative to depend upon).
Weavers Pension:
Weaver is 50 years of age or above and destitute.
Widow Pension:
As per the Marriage Act 18 years and above.
Disabled Pension:
Disabled persons having a minimum of 40% disability and No age limit.
Sanction Authority :
Rural area:
The MPDO is the sanctioning authority for all pensions, in favour of eligible persons recommended by the Janmabhoomi Committees.
Urban area :
The Municipal Commissioner is the sanctioning authority in respect of all pensions, in favour of eligible persons recommended by the Janmabhoomi Committees.
